Sadie Sink is officially stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Stranger Things standout has been cast in Spider-Man 4, where she'll share the screen with Tom Holland.

Like most Marvel projects, the specifics of Sink's role are under wraps. However, there's buzz that she might play Jean Grey from the X-Men series, previously portrayed by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner. Reports suggest her role will be "significant," though neither Marvel Studios nor Sony have commented.

The plot of Spider-Man 4 remains a mystery. The last film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, released in December 2021, grossed almost $2 billion globally. It featured a multiverse collision with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their roles. The movie ended with Peter Parker erasing his existence, leaving MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) with no memory of him.

Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi, will helm Spider-Man 4, taking over from Jon Watts. Production begins in late 2025 after Holland finishes Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. The film is produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal.

At 22, Sink just wrapped the final season of Stranger Things. She will next star in Searchlight’s O’Dessa and make her Broadway debut in April in John Proctor Is the Villain.

Spider-Man 4 swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
